Influenced by the music and album covers of THE CURE. Each chapter of Her Kiss and The Spider is named after one of the band's songs.
The book is laced with themes of sex mixed with divinity much like the music of Depeche Mode. This line "Reach Out and Touch Faith" is from their song, "Personal Jesus."
Lyrics form MADONNA'S "Like A Prayer" are spiritually and sexually evocative. This GIF as well as the book, throw horror into the mix.
The heart shaped spider web
is an instantly iconic symbol
This early attempt at a "mood board" features images of Cailee Spaeny, Sarayra, and Will Osprey to convey the story's gothic vibe
